Rawn McCloud is an Air Force brat born in Harlem, New York. He was raised in several places including France, Germany, and Great Britain before his family settled in Southern California. He graduated with a degree in Fine Art from California State University.
Rawn's unique imagery incorporates elements of Yoruba, African and ancient sculpture. Symbols and patterns combine with subtle effects of color and design. Bringing together several influences including nature, literature, and jazz, the artist seeks to communicate the wonder and beauty of people overcoming obstacles and moving forward in a positive and spiritual direction.
Rawn has exhibited in a number of group and solo exhibitions including the Academy of Fine Art, New York, NY; Brockman Gallery, Los Angeles, Ca. and the Maralyn Wilson Gallery, Birmingham, Al.
Rawn currently resides in Oakland, California.
