A native of Detroit, educated in the Detroit Public School System and Wayne County College, Rudolph Stanfield, Jr. began his career in music at the age of four under the teaching, guidance and prayers of his grandmother, the late Macie Lee Stanfield. Stanfield is the son of the preaching and musical team of Reverend Rudolph Stanfield, Sr. and the late Reverend Lady Marva Lee Stanfield.
Stanfield, affectionately known as "Rudy," is the founder and pastor of Pentecostal Life And Praise, Church Of God In Christ, Royal Oak, Michigan. He is also the founder and president of the renowned singing group "Rudolph Stanfield and New Revelation" of Detroit, Michigan.
Involved in the music industry for over twenty-five years, Stanfield is an accomplished musician, writer, composer, arranger and one of the most sought-after producers in the industry of gospel music. He has produced over eighteen recordings, fifteen that topped the charts of Billboard’s Gospel Music's Best Selling Records in the country. Stanfield has played for, written, produced and co-produced over thirty recordings. He has also produced and co-produced artists including the late Reverend James Cleveland, Minister Thomas A. Whitfield and Reverend James Leslie Moore.
Stanfield's contribution to the industry of gospel music has been a long and blessed labor of love, with numerous nominations and awards including Stellar, People's Choice, Gospel Excellence, Grammy and Visionary awards, all honoring his works in production and/or as a recording artist.
Through his work in gospel music, Rudy has proven to be a kind, gentle, faithful, saved, Holy Ghost-filled servant who loves the Lord. As a devoted husband of twenty years, Stanfield shares a wonderful life of love and marriage with Bridigette Michelle Stanfield.
