Born in Chicago, IL, Mark S. Hubbard developed an interest for choir directing by age eight. His enthusiasm grew and he soon became the director of the church choir at Greater Holy Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of his mother, Bishop Lourraine Hubbard.
Because of Hubbard’s great love for music ministry and a desire to win souls for Christ, in 1985, at age 19, Mark organized “The United Voices for Christ” (The Voices). Hubbard and The Voices not only grew spiritually, but the Lord blessed the choir to grow to over 100 members.
Hubbard and The Voices became one of Chicago’s most celebrated choirs. Their spirit filled, high energy performances gave them many opportunities to perform with some of the country’s most notable gospel and pop/hip-hop celebrities such as Aretha Franklin, Richard Smallwood, Donald Lawrence, Hezekiah Walker, Tramaine Hawkins, Stevie Wonder, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Carr, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Kim Burrell, Karen Clark-Sheard, Byron Cage and Donnie McClurkin.
Hubbard has served as Assistant Minister of Music, director of the Spirit of David Choir, and as Assistant Church Administrator at Sweet Holy Spirit, where Bishop Larry D. Trotter is pastor. His responsibilities included arranging and coordinating the music ministries of the church. Hubbard is currently a member of Destiny Worship Center, where DeAndre Patterson serves as pastor.
In April of 2001, Hubbard saw a special need in the Christian music community, leading him to organize United for One Cause (UF1C). This organization is geared toward assisting choirs, soloist and musicians who are seeking help in developing their talents in the music industry.
Hubbard currently serves as a Governor for the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Recording Arts & Sciences, a board member on the Chicago Gospel Fest Committee, host of “Chi-town Gospel” on Kingdomradio.net and Administrator of Music and Fine Arts for YAYAC (Youth and Young Adult Chorale).
Hubbard, as a producer, songwriter, vocal trainer and unique choral director loves meeting people from all walks of life and has a heart for the youth. Hubbard believes in sharing his talents and knowledge of music ministry with others through conducting musical workshops for people with a passion for music and ministry.
