Born in the North, spending time in the South along the way, and now residing in the Midwest, Dwight Stone is a radio personality with a unique love for the business. His interest in and dream of a career in radio started in high school in Toronto, Canada. This dream soon became a reality after his first year in college in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2001, six years and three radio stations later, Stone headed to St. Louis to pursue and reach the next level in his radio career. While at 100.3 the Beat, Stone received Number 1 ratings for his primetime radio show. His on-air hijinks like "D. Stone Karaoke," unscripted celebrity interviews, and fearlessness while live on location created excitement and a listening audience that tuned in again and again to see what might happen next.
But Stone’s antics could only be matched by the seriousness of his approach to his job. He received several honors for his "Beat the Streets" community talk show and town hall meetings. More than a radio personality, Stone is a community servant. He volunteers with several community groups and serves as a youth leader at his church. His passion for ministry has given him platforms in local radio and national syndication. Dwight can now be heard weekday afternoons on Hallelujah 1600 and along with his co-host P. Dub, his syndicated gospel mix show "The Praise Mixdown," is airing in St. Louis, New Orleans, Kentucky.
As an ambassador for youth ministry, D. Stone & P-Dub formed the YFS Nation (young, fly & saved) – an on-line community of over 5000 youth committed to spreading the good news of Gospel all over the world. With their help, the Praise Mixdown podcast now receives over 1000 downloads a week and reaches youths in Canada, China, England, and more.
Although music will always remain Stone’s first love, his passion and commitment to make a difference in his community is what truly drives him. His intensity toward challenges can truly be described in the two words he most often uses, "Let’s win!"
