Alvin V. Williams is currently CEO of Alvin! Entertainments Company, specializing in artist brand management and content development for TV and film.
He previously served as Senior Director of Music, Talent and Acquisitions at the Gospel Music Channel, the first and only 24-hour entertainment cable television network dedicated to all forms of gospel music.
Williams spearheaded the creation of the first Gospel Music Heritage Month which was ultimately designated by the House of Representatives and Senate. The dual legislation proclaimed September as Gospel Music Heritage Month, honoring gospel music for its valuable long-standing contributions to American culture.
Williams is the former Director of Music World Gospel. As a former A&R Director at Word Records, Williams was the executive producer for five albums. His first project, Shirley Caesar’s Hymns project, received 2002 Grammy and Dove nominations. Shirley Caesar’s “You Can Make It” received a 2001 Grammy and New Direction’s “Get Your Praise On” also received a Grammy nomination. These same projects received Dove Award nominations in 2001; Shirley Caesar, Best Traditional Gospel Record for "You Can Make It" and Best Contemporary Song for "Rejoice," featuring New Direction.
Williams holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Tennessee State University and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Williams is the co-author of The Business of Music for the Gospel and Christian Industry. Williams is married to Tammy Williams, CEO of Open Rivers Pictures a film/TV production company.
