Two words…thank you! Thank you to everyone who participated in Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound 2011, making it a truly special event.
Every choir that participated shared their joy in the message and sense of celebration as only a gospel choir can. We admire the commitment, dedication, and passion that it takes to be a part of this nationwide event, and we appreciate the hard work and many hours of practice.
We want also want to express our gratitude to all the fans, supporters, encouragers and those who attended the events in nine cities across the country. Your enthusiasm is the heart of How Sweet the Sound, and we wouldn’t be able to do it without you.
It’s our hope that you’ll continue the celebration throughout the year and consider registering your choir in 2012. How Sweet the Sound is an experience you will always remember, and a celebration that will touch your heart for a lifetime.

We want to make sure you are aware of important changes that took place this week at How Sweet the Sound, since these changes impact our hundreds of choirs already signed up and many more that will now have the opportunity to register.
Because we cannot post songs on the website for which we do not own the licensing rights, we will be unable to have an online voting period in the competition. This change also means that choirs may perform any song of their choice in Round 1.
We’re happy to let you know that now the submission period will be re-opened to allow new choirs to enter, or existing participants to revise their current submission. We feel this makes How Sweet the Sound truly a celebration of a wide spectrum of church music.
So, our registration now closes on July 30, 2009, and following this, our judging panel will review all submitted videos, and based on the scores, four choirs from each of our two categories will advance to the regional performances.
Thanks to all involved for being a part of the celebration. To begin or revise your registration, click here.
